The Fertile Earth Pro feeder mounts on the main line of your sprinkler system, usually in a valve box below ground. Water passes through the unit, and after the prescribed amount of water has passed, a piston injects a dose of chemical into the main line. As the water flow rate changes from one zone to the next, the Fertile Earth Pro feeder changes the injection proportionately so that the amount of chemical per gallon of water remains constant, even when the gpm changes. The injection rates are 1/5200, 1/11,500, and 1/32550. The lowest setting (1/32550) will work for fertilizing if you irrigate nearly every day. The lowest setting 1/5200) will work if you irrigate a minimum of three times a week. However, this unit is ideally suited to inject a chemical such as a water retention aid that is usually dispensed in very low amounts. To Change ratios, the unit must be completely removed from the system and a different nozzle (included) mounted inside the unit. Chemical is drawn from a Fertile Earth container with a special fitting to accommodate the fertile earth feeder.
